Tonight there are thousands of people enjoying the MTV Total Request Live Awards up at Piazzale Michelangelo.  We are watching it from the comfort of our lounge room but we can hear the music outside so we are really experiencing ‘surround sound!’  Matteo has woken up on the hour since I put him to bed nearly four hours ago so I hope this is not going to be my routine for tonight.

We went for a walk up to the Piazza to check out the stage this afternoon and it really is very impressive but what makes it so is the spectacular backdrop of Florence.  The sun was shining and there was a buzz in the air as the bands went through their sound checks.

As I watch the concert on the tv, I wish I could capture the night images of Florence with the concert in the foreground.  What an amazing location for a concert!

Now this party animal is off to bed  – hope you are all having a lovely weekend!
