Via dei Neri is becoming known as the ‘Strada del Cibo’ / or Eat Street and it’s easy to see why. This last Saturday a new restaurant opened up and is already creating quite the buzz. Beijing8 is actually a Swedish chain of Chinese restaurants with a focus on dumplings and tea. With over 15 restaurants already located in Europe, Florence is the first Italian opening for the brand! I personally am very happy to see more Asian choices in this city as it is the one thing that I miss from Australia. Beijing8 is located about halfway along Via dei Neri, and you can’t miss the hot pink neon banner and simplistic, minimal interior – clean lines to accompany this clean, light and healthy cuisine.
You can eat in or take-away in the iconic noodle-boxes. So nice to have a taste of Beijing in Florence!!!
“We are a restaurant chain for slow fast food. We are serving traditional dumplings and tea in an urban setting with a contemporary ambience. We are combining ancient Chinese food culture with young values of ecology and long term sustainability.
We offer what many have been long lacking; fast service and relaxed meals, a better tasting experience at a lower price, simple food in a carefully designed package, to eat here or to take away.
We believe in natural ingredients and honest contents and we are offering something that is just as easy and accessible – but better for the body, tastier for the palate and more dignified for the restaurant guest.”
