And one week shy of the end of the month, our November – December issue is finally available for download. The hard-copies are at the printer and I am very excited about picking them up and delivering them next week!
So what’s in this issue? Below is a copy of the contents & my editor’s intro :
And just like that, the cold weather arrived to reassure us that Tuscany would indeed experience another Winter this year and that Christmas was not too far away. The lights and decorations are already being put up around the cities while most of us think about one of our favourite past-times during this festive season; food! Our recipes this issue are based on a traditional Italian Christmas feast. Hand-made tortellini in a heart-warming beef broth, followed by roast guinea fowl filled with a stuffing made with chestnuts, pine-nuts and sultanas. Make sure you leave a bit of room for dessert and finish off your meal with our panettone bread & butter puddings.
Over the last few months, I have had the pleasure of researching some of the most important perfume brands that have been founded in Florence. With origins dating back to the 13th Century, you can appreciate the importance of this city and the artisans who continue to the tradition of ‘Profumo made in Tuscany’.
Feel like getting out and exploring Tuscany? In this issue, we visit the haunting remains of the Abbey of San Galgano, one of the regions best-kept secrets, holding almost 1,000 years of Tuscan history.
If you choose to stay in the city, then stay at Florence’s newest and most luxurious boutique apartments, Palazzo Del Moro, restored with an eye for exquisite design and detail overseen by Franco Mariotti of luxurious home furnishings store, Flair.
Don’t forget to browse our Christmas Tuscan Gift Guide if you are looking for an authentic and special gift or souvenir to take home and remind you of your lovely time in this beautiful region, la Toscana!
Happy Holidays!
