Little Visitor

Baby Bird hitching a ride.

This afternoon, I was about to go out on my lovely new bicycle with Matteo when as I went to undo the lock, I was met with an ugly little face staring back at me.

Can you see the little creature trying to hitch a ride in the photo above?  It is actually a baby Thrush, in Italian called a Tordo and we have two in our entrance.  The photo below is a bit closer so you can see how comfortable he was.

It was actually a very pleasant surprise and I was pleased to find both of them still there when we returned.

Matteo and I went to a meeting at his new day care that he will be starting in September.  He was so tired from the excitement of meeting his future class mates that he actually fell asleep on the bike on the way home.  Let’s hope he doesn’t do that too often!

Matteo just before I pinched his pudgy chin in the bicycle helmet clip – such a mean mummy today! 🙁
